Uber's Community Operations team is committed to delivering high-quality safety support through effective investigations and continuous improvement. As a Safety Investigations Specialist II, you will review and investigate safety-related reports, ensuring cases are accurately assessed, categorized, and handled in accordance with established policies and processes.

In this role, you will evaluate safety contacts to ensure investigations are thorough, appropriate resolutions are provided, and required procedures are consistently followed. You will also help identify process gaps, quality improvement opportunities, and areas of strength that contribute to improving overall operational performance.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and adaptable problem solver with a strong interest in investigations and continuous improvement. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, navigating ambiguity, and applying sound judgment to situations where a standard solution may not always be available.

What You'll Do

Investigate and review safety-related reports, ensuring accurate categorization and appropriate actions in accordance with Uber's policies and procedures.Evaluate safety contacts to ensure accurate resolutions, process compliance, and adherence to established quality standards.Conduct targeted reviews and audits to assess compliance, identify process gaps, and highlight improvement opportunities.Analyze case details and supporting evidence to develop well-informed recommendations for internal actions and communicate findings to key stakeholders.Conduct high-priority and complex investigations requiring strong subject matter expertise and sound judgment.Maintain a strong focus on earner fairness, ensuring objective and consistent decision-making across reviews.Identify individual and process-level strengths, trends, and opportunities through consistent case reviews.Review existing taxonomies and provide recommendations for improvements, with consideration for regional requirements and nuances.Assess the effectiveness of internal controls through structured reviews and audit questionnaires.Provide clear, actionable insights that contribute to quality, operational effectiveness, and continuous process improvement.Maintain a high standard of data integrity, accuracy, and quality across all investigations and reviews.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders while adapting to evolving processes and business priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

Strong verbal communicator and able to interact with many types of partners; demonstrates an ability to set clear expectations and communicate status to customers, colleagues, managementQuickly able to problem solve and troubleshoot; thinks critically about issues presented; comfortable with on-the-fly fare calculations, etc.Demonstrates a customer-focused attitude toward solving problems; understands the importance of creating a world-class customer support experienceMotivated and able to operate with minimal oversight, comfortable navigating new and challenging situations/processes; displays emergent leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluency in both English and Arabic, with strong reading, writing, and communication skills in both languages.Minimum 6 months of experience handling sensitive or high-severity issues.Prior Safety experience and knowledge of Uber's Safety processes and operations would be an added advantage.Strong attention to detail, diligence, and accountability when working in a highly detail-oriented environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong reading comprehension and interpretation abilities.Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions while handling high-severity and sensitive cases in a fast-paced environment.Passion for quality and continuous process improvement, with confidence in presenting feedback, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.Proficiency in productivity tools, including email, calendar, Google Workspace, and/or Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively toward shared goals and objectives.
