Position Summary

The Local Product Manager is responsible for managing the product portfolio at the local manufacturing site, ensuring alignment between market requirements, customer expectations, operational capabilities, and business objectives. The role serves as the key interface between Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Global Product Management to drive profitable growth, product lifecycle management, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

Execute local product strategies aligned with global and regional business objectives.Manage the local product portfolio throughout its lifecycle, including product introduction, optimization, and phase-out activities.Identify market opportunities, competitive trends, and customer needs to support business growth.Recommend product enhancements and localization opportunities based on market and customer feedback.

Business Performance Management

Monitor revenue, margin, volume, and profitability performance of assigned product lines.Develop and maintain product forecasts and business plans.Support pricing strategy and profitability improvement initiatives.

Customer & Market Interface

Act as the local product expert for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.Support customer visits, technical discussions, and product presentations.Gather and analyze voice-of-customer feedback to drive product improvements.Collaborate with sales teams to identify growth opportunities and support key account strategies.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Coordinate activities among Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales.Lead cross-functional projects related to product launches, qualification and cost reduction.Ensure smooth introduction of new products and management of product changes.Drive resolution of product-related issues impacting customers or operations.

Product Lifecycle Management

Manage new product introductions (NPI), product transfers, and product obsolescence processes.Maintain product specifications, documentation, and change management records.Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and value engineering.Support Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.Drive productivity and profitability improvements across the product portfolio.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering ( Electrical/Mechanical stream)

Experience

5–10 years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering of Instrument Transformer.Demonstrated success in cross-functional project leadership and stakeholder management.
