Engineer II - Mechanical Design Engineer
LV Equipment and Enclosures | Engineering | Engineer II
Join our engineering team as a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop robust, manufacturable, and standardized solutions for
low voltage switchgear and switchboards. You will transform customer requirements into practical 3D models, manufacturing
drawings, assemblies, and bills of material while supporting projects from design through manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
Your Mission
Develop and adapt mechanical designs for LV equipment, including enclosures, sheet-metal parts, structural elements, busbars,
supports, and internal arrangements. Resolve design challenges, manage technical risks, and contribute to reusable engineering
solutions and global design consistency.
What You Will Do
Create and adapt 3D models, 2D drawings, general arrangements, and mechanical BOMs. Design sheet-metal parts, enclosures, busbars, supports, mounting systems, and assemblies. Apply tolerancing, material selection, DFM/DFA, accessibility, lifting, transport, and interface requirements. Review customer requirements, approved designs, deviations, interfaces, and mechanical risks. Support design reviews, prototype builds, manufacturing clarification, FAT, installation, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with electrical engineering, plants, industrialization, procurement, quality, suppliers, and project teams.
What Will Help You Succeed
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Experience in mechanical design, product engineering, project engineering, or engineered-to-order equipment. Practical knowledge of sheet-metal design, 3D assemblies, manufacturing drawings, materials, tolerances, and BOMs. Working knowledge of Creo Parametric, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD; Windchill or equivalent PDM knowledge is an
advantage.
Strong problem-solving, manufacturing awareness, communication, collaboration, and ownership.
Preferred Experience
LV switchgear or switchboard mechanical design; industrial enclosures; busbar and support design; skid or kiosk interfaces; data
center or mission-critical equipment; prototype development; manufacturing support; FAT; installation; troubleshooting; and
multi-site design standardization.
