The role
A field service engineer at a manufacturing technology company provides on-floor support for manufacturing systems, MES, and connected devices, troubleshooting production incidents and maintaining system health. The role applies SQL and networking to diagnose connectivity and production-support issues.
Full job description
Fynd is a frontier technology company. We started at the intersection of technology and retail because that is where technology was the least available. Over the years, we became one of India’s largest retail technology platforms. But retail was the entry point, not the boundary.
Today, Fynd builds intelligent software that runs business operations. Not tools that help people work faster, but systems that absorb entire functions: manufacturing, marketing, logistics, commerce, quality control. We sit inside our customers’ businesses, harvest deep domain context, and build AI systems that operate autonomously. We are expanding from retail into manufacturing, generative media, physical AI, and healthcare.
Role Overview
The Field Support Engineer will play a critical on-floor role in ensuring smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations by providing real-time support for MES, production systems, and connected devices. Working in rotating 12-hour shifts, the role will help minimize downtime, resolve technical issues quickly, and maintain device and system health across the plant. This position is ideal for early-career engineers who want hands-on exposure to manufacturing technology in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MES, hardware, electronics, networking, and system connectivity.
Monitor device health, identify abnormalities, and support preventive corrective actions to reduce downtime.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to restore operations quickly during incidents.
Perform basic SQL-based checks, data validation, and issue diagnosis within production support systems.
Document incidents, resolutions, escalations, and recurring issues accurately for operational tracking.
Support system start-up, changeover, and shift handover activities across 12-hour rotating shifts.
Communicate effectively with plant stakeholders in Telugu and English to support timely issue resolution.
