Production Group Supervisor - General

Location: LILP Palava III, Khoni Taloja Road, Waklan, Thane.

Position Headline

Leads, assists & supervises Production in overseeing and managing all production activities in a single group/s from functional perspective.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures adherence to defined manufacturing guidelines, processes and procedures (focus on production).Supervises production activities according to established quality standards and EHS requirements.Contributes to production planning processes and determines manufacturing priorities based on established weekly production schedules. Makes daily assignments and assigns work and tasks to the member of the production group.Interprets specifications and makes judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process.Proposes procedures improvements and implements technical infrastructure.Proposes procedures improvements and implements technical infrastructure.Leads and supervises assigned Production Technicians and Operators.Plans equipment layout, workflow, and accidental prevention measures, and the respective processes and guidelines of production.Develops and Implements performance measurement and improvement initiatives.Performs inspections and investigations, and analyzes technical manufacturing or logistics processes and sequences.Plans, proposes and implements improvements projects on site or unit level, sets the respective targets, budgets and personnel resources, and steers the overall project process.Liaises with other engineering functions or external vendors or service providers, and constantly monitors and approves respective services and work deliveries.Manages overall ramp-up phase of new production & test equipment, or production launch of new products. and ensures life cycle support.Ensures process documentation, and trains related manufacturing or maintenance staff.Conducts time and motions studies and derives time standards for production calculations.Oversees assigned (parts of) technologically demanding and complex processes which do need specialized, experienced and well vocationally trained work force.Assists effectively to budget accountable management. Reports to Plant manager.Oversees all assigned - or major parts of - production sequences, and across shifts (if any), in production unit. Plans, prioritizes and manages related resources and measures.Establishes & fosters on primarily intra-organizational contacts and functionally oriented external contacts.They focus on interpretation and application of procedures, analyse issues, implement changes, and may advise and guide operational positions in their area of specialism.

Requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and ExperienceDiploma or BE - Mechanical / Electrical / Production with minimum 6-8 years of experience in product assembly lines.Both advanced practical and theoretical understanding and some significant advanced hands on experience is required to oversee and manage the diverse and relatively complex tasks in the related field of work.Resource (Man, Machine & Material) planning as against customer demand.Learning attitude is a MUST.Hands on experience in implementing "Lean Manufacturing" project at shop floor.Hands on experience in implementing "5S", "Kanban", "PDCA", "8D" tools.Hands on experience in SAP - PP & MM module.Candidate must posses Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.Must have knowledge about Workstation arrangement & Ergonomic study.Must have implemented Productivity improvement projects.Must posses awareness about Industry Manufacturing 4.0 with latest automation tools & Techniques.Must have basic knowledge of EHS regards to work permit, SOP & HIRA.Must have adequate knowledge about Tools & Fixtures.

Needs advanced management understanding in order to lead and align employees in different workflows and/or projects organization environment.Planning and managing results and performance is essential.Complexity is about managing diffrent product assembly lines having technicians & third party contracts employees.Due to changing priorities or differing situations encountered in one of the assembly lines, thinking is focused on planning, prioritizing and optimizing of material and/or personnel resources and also all functional processes to ensure achievement of given or agreed standards (reliability, availability, safety, effectiveness, etc.). #SL
