About The Role

Quarry Operations Engineer to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our limestone quarry. The role ensures safe, efficient, and sustainable extraction practices while consistently delivering the required material quality and quantities to support plant production.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement mining strategies to optimize resource extraction and extend quarry life.Design and monitor bench geometry to ensure slope stability, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.Manage and interpret block models to align production with geological resources and plant needs.Conduct and oversee sampling and quality control to ensure materials meet specifications.Plan and supervise blasting operations, ensuring safety, precision, and cost efficiency.Use quarry engineering and design software (e.g., QSO Expert, AutoCAD, Surpac, or similar) to prepare 3D models, technical drawings, and operational plans.Oversee topographic surveys, maintain accurate maps, and update quarry records.Collaborate with processing plant teams to deliver the right material quality and volumes.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.Train and mentor quarry staff on operational best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in quarry operations or open-pit mining, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/engineering role.Technical Knowledge:Bench design and blasting techniquesQuarry planning and resource managementBlock model interpretation and geological analysisMaterial quality management in cement, aggregate, or construction industries

Software Proficiency:QSO Expert or equivalent quarry operation softwareAutoCAD, Surpac, or other 3D modeling/design toolsGIS/Topographic survey tools
