Broad outline of the Role

Responsible for driving day-to-day IT operations across Linux platforms (SUSE, Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS). This is an operational role requiring proactive management of system stability, incident resolution, and support services. Guidance from senior engineers may be sought to ensure quality outcomes and adherence to best practices. .

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.

3–4 years of hands-on experience managing Linux servers in enterprise environments.

Other Knowledge & Skills

Strong experience with system installation, configuration, and administration on Linux platforms (SUSE, Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS).

Good understanding of IT operational processes, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Perl) for automation tasks.

Knowledge of system security, patch management, and backups.

Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud environments is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and support Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating as necessary.

Respond effectively to user requests and communicate technical information clearly.

Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software components to latest versions.

Monitor and track system performance, helpdesk tickets, and operational metrics.

Provide applications support for internal teams and business-critical applications.

Generate reports related to ticketing, system health, and operational metrics.

Conduct preliminary research, documentation, and analytics for ongoing operational improvements.

Collaborate with internal IT teams to implement solutions and follow change management procedures.
