ABOUT THE ROLE

To manage all store operations including receipt, storage, inventory control, line feeding, and issue of materials, ensuring uninterrupted production support, inventory accuracy, optimum stock levels, and compliance with automotive quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Stores Operations Management

Oversee receipt, storage, preservation, and issue of raw materials, components, consumables, and packing materials.

Ensure proper material identification, traceability, and storage practices.

Maintain FIFO/FEFO compliance across all inventory categories.

Monitor daily store operations and material movements.

2. Inventory Management

Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and periodic stock audits.

Monitor stock levels and prevent shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence.

Coordinate with Production Planning and Purchase teams for inventory optimization.

Ensure inventory reconciliation between physical stock and ERP records.

3. Production Line Support

Ensure timely material availability for production lines.

Monitor line-feeding operations and material replenishment systems.

Coordinate with Production, Logistics, and Planning teams to avoid production disruptions.

Manage Kanban-based material flow systems.

4. SAP & Documentation Control

Ensure timely and accurate postings in SAP systems.

Maintain inventory reports, stock registers, and audit records.

Monitor material transactions and inventory variances.

Generate MIS reports for management review.

5. Warehouse Management

Optimize warehouse layout and storage utilization.

Implement best practices in material handling and warehouse operations.

Monitor housekeeping standards and 5S implementation.

Ensure safe storage of materials and consumables.

6. Team Management

Lead stores executives, operators, and contract manpower.

Plan manpower deployment and monitor productivity.

Conduct training on inventory management, 5S, safety, and SAP usage.

Drive employee engagement and discipline within the stores function.

7. Compliance & Audits

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer requirements.

Support internal, external, and customer audits.

Ensure adherence to EHS standards and statutory requirements.

Maintain traceability records and document control systems.

8. Continuous Improvement

Lead Kaizen, Lean, and inventory optimization initiatives.

Drive reduction in inventory carrying costs.

Improve warehouse efficiency and material flow.

Implement digitalization and automation initiatives in stores operations.
