Job Description

The Credit & Control Team Lead at NIQ is responsible for overseeing the credit management and control processes within the finance department. This leadership role entails managing a team focused on maintaining sound credit policies, performing credit assessments, managing receivables, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in credit management, and the ability to foster a team environment that prioritizes accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Policy Management: Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies and procedures that minimize risk and promote revenue growthTeam Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and control team members, managing workloads, setting goals, and conducting performance reviewsCredit Risk Assessment: Oversee the assessment of credit risk, approve credit limits, and monitor credit exposures to ensure compliance with internal guidelinesAccounts Receivable Management: Ensure efficient management of accounts receivable and timely collection of monies owed. Implement strategies to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO) and improve cash flowStakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve credit issues and enhance customer satisfactionReporting and Compliance: Generate regular reports on credit control activities and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirementsProcess Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements in credit processes and technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Professional certification in credit management (e.g., CICM) is a mustMinimum of 7 years of experience in credit management or a related financial role, including supervisory or leadership experienceTechnical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of credit-related laws and regulations, as well as proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelAnalytical Skills: High level of analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess credit risk and make informed decisionsLeadership Abilities: Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams. Ability to coach, mentor, and inspire team members to achieve business goalsCommunication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholdersOrganizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
