What you’ll own

Technical Guidance & Best Practices: Provide technical leadership to development teams, ensuring all database code is optimized for maximum performance, scalability, and strict adherence to development standards.Architecture & Modernization: Drive the design and architectural considerations for critical Tier 0 database changes, leveraging emerging database technologies to modernize UI and transaction processing flows.Roadmap Execution: Track, own, and implement complex technical roadmap tasks to deliver system resiliency and scalability, accommodating a projected influx of 2.4 billion annual transactions.Production Resolution & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate complex production issues to deliver both immediate hotfixes and strategic, long-term architectural solutions.

What you’ll bring

Senior Database Engineering Expertise: Extensive experience designing, coding, debugging, and validating database logic within a highly flexible software development life cycle (SDLC).High-Volume Transaction Management: Proven track record of managing and scaling databases for high-volume, Tier 0 core transaction processing platforms or massive data migrations.Performance Tuning & Optimization: Deep technical knowledge in optimizing database processing, flowcharting, and data growth management to prevent delivery delays and system degradation.

It’s a bonus if you have

Experience with large-scale merchant platform migrations, payment network routing interfaces (such as Interac), or UI modernization projects sized over 10,000 hours.A background working in horizontal database teams that span multiple modules from transaction processing to reporting.
