About The Team

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting a flagship post-trade processing platform that serves global futures, options, and clearing markets. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, delivering high-quality solutions that support exchanges, clearing organizations, brokers, and financial institutions worldwide. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient business solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mission-critical applications on the IBM i (AS400) platformAnalyze business requirements and create detailed technical design documentationEstimate development efforts, track progress, and contribute to delivery planningCollaborate with Product Management, Business Analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to prioritize and deliver solutionsDevelop and optimize RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CL, and DB2/400 based applicationsTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues to ensure platform stability and performancePerform application enhancements, defect resolution, and system maintenance activitiesSupport batch processing, system integrations, and operational workflowsParticipate in code reviews, release management, and continuous improvement initiativesProvide rotational on-call support and respond to critical business and operational incidentsPartner with Operations, Client Services, and other teams to ensure seamless service deliveryMentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices within the team

What You Bring

5+ years of hands-on experience in IBM AS400 (IBM i / iSeries) application development and supportStrong expertise in RPG/RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CL/CLLE, DB2/400, batch processing, DFU, and query toolsExperience supporting production environments and resolving complex application and system issuesKnowledge of IBM i APIs, Data Queues, User Queues, Message Queues, Multi-threading, Journaling, and IBM i library-based file systemsStrong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and iterative delivery modelsExperience with source control, code management, deployment, and release processesStrong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, global team environment
