Job Description

As a Sr Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) in India and EMEA or Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) categories supporting Honeywell manufacturing operations in India and partially APAC.

You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Integrated Supply Chain, Finance, and Project Management teams to deliver productivity, improve supplier performance, mitigate commercial and supply risks, and support the successful execution of capital investment and operational reliability initiatives.

You will apply your manufacturing and strategic sourcing experience to manage complex supplier engagements, lead competitive sourcing events, negotiate commercial agreements, and implement category strategies that deliver measurable business value.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for CAPEX / MRO categories supporting manufacturing operationsSupport the execution of capital investment projects in India and EMEA region, including manufacturing expansion, capacity growth, automation, modernization, and equipment replacement initiativesLead sourcing activities related to manufacturing expansion projects in Pune and HyderabadManage end-to-end sourcing activities, including requirements review, market analysis, supplier identification, RFx execution, bid evaluation, negotiation, supplier recommendation, contracting, and implementationLead sourcing activities for capital equipment, production machinery, automation systems, manufacturing technologies, installation services, commissioning support, and related technical servicesDevelop and implement sourcing strategies for MRO categories, including industrial spare parts, repair and maintenance services, OEM components, industrial consumables, technical services, tools, and reliability-related requirementsPartner with Engineering and Project Management teams to align sourcing plans with technical specifications, project schedules, budgets, and implementation requirementsCollaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to support equipment availability, operational continuity, and manufacturing reliabilityDrive productivity through competitive bidding, supplier negotiations, demand management, value engineering, specification optimization, supplier consolidation, and total cost of ownership analysisConduct supply market analysis and supplier benchmarking to support sourcing decisionsMonitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, service, responsiveness, and complianceLead supplier performance reviews and establish corrective action and continuous improvement plans as neededEvaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, financial health, commercial position, and supply continuity risksDevelop and execute mitigation plans for supplier, contractual, commercial, and project-execution risksLead commercial negotiations involving pricing, payment terms, productivity commitments, warranties, service levels, liability, and other contractual requirementsEnsure compliance with Honeywell sourcing policies, ethical requirements, approval processes, and contract governance standardsSupport contract development, execution, administration, supplier compliance, and resolution of commercial issuesMaintain and support accurate sourcing plans, project updates, savings forecasts, supplier information, risk documentation, supporting records, annual productivity, working capital, cost optimization, and supply continuity objectivesInfluence cross-functional stakeholders and gain alignment on sourcing recommendations, supplier selection, and commercial decisionsPromote standard sourcing processes, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement across the India CAPEX and MRO portfolio

CAPEX strategy includes categories such as processing machinery, test & analytical, automation and process controls, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), material handling, packaging and other industrial equipment, supplies & services Meanwhile, MRO strategy includes categories such as OEM spare parts, pumps, pipes, valves and fittings, motors, bearings, power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, hardware, fasteners, industrial gases, chemicals, lubricants, cutting tools, hand and power tools, electrical supplies, and other industrial materials.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related discipline7 to 10 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Category Management, or a related fieldDemonstrated experience working in or directly supporting a manufacturing environmentExperience developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for CAPEX and/or MRO categoriesExperience sourcing capital equipment, production machinery, industrial equipment, maintenance services, spare parts, technical services, and/or industrial consumablesExperience leading competitive sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier selection, and commercial negotiationsExperience negotiating supplier contracts, commercial terms, payment terms, warranties, and service-level requirementsExperience managing supplier relationships and driving supplier performance improvementsDemonstrated ability to deliver measurable cost reduction, productivity, working capital, or total cost improvementsStrong analytical, financial, negotiation, and commercial decision-making skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, and Project Management stakeholdersAbility to communicate effectively in English within a global business environment
