Autodesk is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team focused on shaping the future of Factory Design solutions in Autodesk. We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic about delivering innovative solutions aimed at providing a Device Independent experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of software development for web applications.

Tandem Simulation is a browser-based solution for Factory Layout and Discrete Event Simulation closely connected to Operations’ Solutions on a common platform that improves productivity, efficiency and helps reduce operational bottlenecks by providing actionable insights

Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the application Produce clean, effective, secure, maintainable, and well-documented codeUse AI-driven development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code in day-to-day engineering workflows to improve development velocity, code quality, debugging, and delivery efficiencyEmbrace an event-driven architecture mindset and apply it to software design and developmentCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and timelinesUtilize web debugging techniques to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficientlyLeverage cloud technologies, including AWS services such as S3, OSS, and RDS, for scalable and reliable solutionsFacilitating agile ceremonies and ensuring the team's adherence to agile principlesMentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field6-8 years of industry experience building and delivering robust, performant, and maintainable commercial web applicationsStrong understanding of object-oriented programming principlesWorking knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and agentic AI technologies, including tools such as Cursor and Claude CodeProficiency in frontend development such as JavaScript/HTML/CSSExperience with frontend development frameworks like React, Angular or VueProficiency in backend development frameworks such as NodeJS, GoLangExperience building Progressive Web ApplicationsExperience with database technologies e.g. MySQL, MongoDBExperience with build and CI/CD tools such as JenkinsExperience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services such as S3, OSS, and RDSSolid understanding of event-driven architecture principlesExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing prioritiesStrong verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with agentic software-development workflows, including Spec-Driven Development (SDD) or comparable structured AI-assisted development practicesExperience creating reusable skills, workflows, rules, prompts, or agent configurations that improve engineering consistency, productivity, and efficiencyExperience optimizing the cost and efficiency of AI usage, including model selection, prompt/context optimization, token usage, and balancing quality, latency, and costMasters in Computer Science
