Broad outline of the Role
As a RHOSP Platform Engineer, the candidate will be responsible to implement the architectural designs, build specification documentation, perform horizontal scaling, and support the lifecycle management of virtualization platform. Operating at the core of our digital infrastructure, the candidate will ensure our Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) and underlying applications deliver a high-performance environment that meets business objectives while adhering to strong engineering standards. The candidate will support the evaluation of new releases, implement non-disruptive platform upgrades, and deliver designs that scale capacity ahead of tenant demand.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Experience: Technical/ Engineering degree with 5 years experience, of which 3+ years of dedicated hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) in a enterprise or service-provider environmentEducation: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Administration, or equivalent practical experience Core Systems: Proven mastery of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), hypervisor tuning, and OpenStack Director / TripleO deployment mechanismsAutomation: Advanced proficiency with Ansible, Python scripting, Postman/APIs, etc
Other Knowledge & Skills
Certifications: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) in OpenStack or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenStack (preferred)Networking: Deep knowledge of SDN topologies, OVN/OVS, BGP/MPLS, L2/L3 networking, and DPDK/SR-IOV data-path accelerationLife Cycle Management: Extensive experience with Storage and VNF lifecycle management and performance tuningEmerging Tech: Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) and OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) architecture transition

Platform Design & Evolution: Implement the architectural designs, continuously refine the core RHOSP platform to support evolving business requirements, while adhering to engineering and operational standardsDocumentation and design: Prepare design and specification documentation, and other reference material, to grow, scale and operate the platformDeployment & Scaling: Design capacity expansion, executing compute cluster scalingLifecycle Management & Upgrades: Implement the release and patching plans, deploy major RHOSP version upgrades, and support the eventual transition from RHOSP to OpenShiftAutomation and performance: Support orchestration/automation development effort, establish/deploy performance monitoring capabilities Core Services Integration: Implement and support key backend infrastructure, including storage, OVN/OVS, and high-performance DPDK networking pathsPlatform Security & Compliance: Implement hardening standards, RBAC policies, and encryption mechanisms across OpenStack API endpoints, control plane, and hypervisor
