Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in electromechanical, switchgear product development and lead the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of electromechanical products, switchgear assemblies, and related subsystems. The incumbent will be responsible for independently execute engineering assignments, drive product development activities, and provide technical leadership on moderately complex projects. he will be responsible for translating customer and business requirements into innovative, reliable, and manufacturable solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, quality requirements, and project objectives
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and develop electromechanical products (Enclosures and related mechanical assemblies required for low voltage (600V max.) emergency power system and power distribution products), switchgear assemblies, and related subsystems.Develop innovative engineering solutions to meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.Create and review complete required assembly documentation including component details, assembly drawings, 3D Models and design documentation.Provides guidance to the Product Management department regarding the feasibility of customer requested special products and accessories.Understands and functions within all phases of product development and sustaining engineering includingOrder processing utilizing Switch business systems.Product structure, (Bills of Material), utilizing engineering/manufacturing business systems.Engineering Standards & PracticesDevelopment, maintenance and thorough understanding of Product Design Specifications for assigned products.Plan and execute design verification and validation activities.Apply GD&T principles, design for manufacturability (DFM), and engineering best practices throughout product developmentIdentify technical risks and drive mitigation plans to ensure successful project execution.Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams for assembly and production-related issues.Participate in customer interactions, design reviews, and technical discussions.Drive productivity improvements, design standardization, automation initiatives, and Lean Engineering practices.Collaborate with global engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, cost, and quality targets.Complete knowledge and experience in use of codes and standards UL, IEC.Contribute innovative concepts and ideas for system and subsystem enhancement.Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural and virtual work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.7–9 years of experience in electromechanical product design and development.Experience in Creo/PDM, Auto CADExperience in low-voltage power distribution products and switchgear systems preferred.Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
Technical Skills
Strong Experience with low-voltage distribution products and systems, preferably:Switch Gear DesignBusbar SystemsEnclosure DesignControl Panel AssemblyExpertise in PTC Creo combined with Product Data ManagementStrong understanding of engineering drawings and documentation control.Understanding of electrical circuits and electromechanical system integration.Knowledge of UL Standards
