About The Role
To manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensure uninterrupted material flow to production, optimize inventory and transportation costs, and maintain compliance with customer delivery requirements in an automotive manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics Management Ensure timely receipt of raw materials, components, and packaging materials. Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and warehouse teams for seamless material movement. Monitor supplier delivery performance and address logistics-related issues. Production Logistics Ensure line-side material availability to support uninterrupted production. Monitor inventory levels and implement replenishment strategies. Coordinate with Production, Planning, Purchase, and Stores teams. Outbound Logistics & Dispatch Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods as per customer schedules. Monitor transportation arrangements and vehicle placement. Track delivery performance and customer service levels. Warehouse & Inventory Management Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and stock audits. Optimize warehouse space utilization and storage practices. Control slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory. Transportation Management Manage transport vendors and freight cost optimization. Monitor vehicle turnaround time and delivery lead times. Ensure compliance with transportation safety and statutory requirements. Customer & Supplier Coordination Interface with OEM customers regarding delivery schedules and logistics concerns. Coordinate with suppliers for delivery adherence and packaging compliance. Resolve customer logistics complaints and delivery discrepancies. Systems & Process Improvement Utilize SAP systems for inventory and logistics transactions. Drive logistics process improvements, automation, and digital initiatives. Implement Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and cost reduction projects. Compliance & Safety Ensure adherence to ISO/IATF 16949 requirements. Maintain EHS standards within warehouse and logistics operations. Ensure statutory compliance related to transportation and logistics activities.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Logistics / Supply Chain Management. MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain preferred. 12+ years of experience in logistics/supply chain functions within the automotive manufacturing industry. Experience handling OEM customers, inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse operations, and transportation management. Knowledge of SAP systems must.
