About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced legal professional to lead the Legal function for our RE-AMS (Renewable Energy Asset Management Services) business. This role will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support across all business operations, ensuring that commercial interests are safeguarded while enabling business growth.The position requires a strong understanding of contracts, regulatory requirements, dispute management, and risk mitigation, along with the ability to partner closely with business leaders and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities : Legal AdvisoryAct as the primary legal advisor to the RE-AMS leadership team.Provide practical and timely legal guidance on business decisions, customer engagements, commercial transactions, and strategic initiatives.Support business teams in identifying and mitigating legal and contractual risks.Ensure legal considerations are balanced with business requirements. Contract Review & NegotiationDraft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of commercial agreements, including:Asset Management AgreementsOperations & Maintenance (O&M) ContractsService ContractsVendor and Procurement AgreementsConsultancy AgreementsNon-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)Lease and Commercial AgreementsEnsure contractual terms adequately protect the company's interests.Drive timely closure of contracts and support commercial discussions with customers and vendors.
Compliance & Regulatory MattersEnsure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry requirements.Monitor legal developments impacting the renewable energy sector and advise stakeholders accordingly.Work closely with internal teams to strengthen compliance practices across the business.Coordinate with external legal advisors and regulatory authorities whenever required.
Litigation & Dispute ManagementManage legal notices, claims, litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.Engage and coordinate with external counsel.Develop strategies to minimize legal exposure and resolve disputes effectively.Keep leadership informed on key legal matters and potential risks.
Risk ManagementIdentify legal risks associated with business operations and commercial arrangements.Recommend mitigation measures and proactive legal controls.Support the organization in strengthening governance and risk management processes.
Stakeholder EngagementPartner with Business, Finance, Commercial, Procurement, HR, and Operations teams.Provide clear and practical legal solutions that support business objectives.Build strong relationships with customers, consultants, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
Candidate Profile:
QualificationBachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.Master's Degree in Law (LLM) or Company Secretary qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience15+ years of relevant legal experience.Experience in Renewable Energy, Power, Infrastructure, EPC, Asset Management, or Industrial Services sectors preferred.Strong exposure to commercial contracts, dispute management, and regulatory compliance.Experience in independently handling complex legal matters and advising senior leadership.
Desired SkillsStrong drafting and contract negotiation skills.Sound knowledge of commercial and corporate laws.Understanding of the renewable energy and power sector will be highly desirable.Strong business acumen and practical approach to problem-solving.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
