Full job description

Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user’s needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consists of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Insulation Coordination Studies: Determination (by simulation) of temporary and transient overvoltage stress on equipment and surge arrester energy ratings.Power System Studies: Perform power system simulations (steady- state and EMT studies) for projects and tendersNetwork studies: Confirmation of the correct interaction between the equipment, its control system and the rest of the network.Losses: Calculation of overall project losses and reporting to the client.Provide guidance and coordinate the engineering tasks to meet the project/tender requirement.Technical responsibility in areas of expertiseIdentify and evaluate EHS risks in the team area and implement practical measures.Strong understanding of coding languages like Python and its application in power system toolsDevelop and maintain automated workflows using Python to execute large scale, multi scenario batch simulation in PSCADIdentify the opportunities for optimization of system studies tools & techniques and leverage advanced AI/ML based techniques for process improvementBridge the gap between engineering simulation software and AI/ML frameworks by developing reusable, scalable pipelines for model validation, testing, and EMT/RMS studiesServe as the technical bridge between traditional HVDC system studies and data science, ensuring that all AI/ML-driven insights remain grounded in foundational studies principle.
