About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Officer – IT to manage and support IT infrastructure and computerized systems associated with manufacturing equipment and instruments. The role will be responsible for backup and restoration activities, user account management, system administration, troubleshooting, IT documentation, and coordination between the Engineering and IT departments.
The position requires hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of computerized systems, manufacturing equipment, and IT regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Backup & Data RestorationExecute and monitor online backups of servers, instruments, and manufacturing equipment.Perform manual backup activities for instruments and equipment as per defined procedures.Execute data restoration activities and maintain appropriate records.Ensure backup and restoration activities are performed in accordance with approved SOPs.
System Administration & Manufacturing ITManage and administer embedded systems, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and MES systems.Perform user account creation, modification, deletion, and access management for instruments and equipment.Support authorization and access-control activities as per established procedures.Provide L1–L2 troubleshooting for systems and applications within the assigned area.
IT & Network SupportMonitor and support LAN/WAN connectivity for manufacturing and office environments.Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware-related issues within defined timelines.Provide desktop support and coordinate allocation/setup of new computer systems for users.Maintain an up-to-date IT asset inventory.Support IT-related requirements for manufacturing equipment and associated systems.
Engineering & Validation SupportAct as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) between the Engineering and IT departments for IT-related requirements.Assist Engineering and other relevant teams in the qualification and validation of manufacturing equipment from an IT perspective.Support implementation and maintenance of computerized systems associated with manufacturing operations.
Documentation & CompliancePrepare, review, monitor, and ensure adherence to applicable SOPs and work instructions.Maintain documentation related to authorization, backup, restoration, and user management activities.Ensure timely completion and maintenance of records required for pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance requirements.Support audit and inspection requirements related to IT systems and computerized systems.
User & Service ManagementEnsure adherence to the IT call logging and incident management process.Conduct awareness sessions for end-users regarding call logging, issue reporting, and escalation procedures.Monitor open issues and ensure timely escalation and resolution.Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, wherever required.
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years of relevant experience in Pharma IT / Manufacturing IT.Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.Strong hands-on knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES, embedded systems, and computerized manufacturing systems.Experience in server backup, data restoration, user management, and system administration.Understanding of LAN/WAN networking and IT infrastructure troubleshooting.Good knowledge of hardware/software troubleshooting.Understanding of SOP-driven and regulated environments.Exposure to computerized system qualification/validation will be an added advantage.Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.Willingness to work in rotational shifts aligned with manufacturing operations.
