Job Title: Assistant / Deputy Manager - R&D
Job Mission
Lead the development, integration, and validation of advanced control systems for mining truck applications, leveraging extensive expertise in PLC, ECU, HMI, SCADA, and Control Systems Engineering. Drive the design and implementation of robust software on CODESYS-based controllers, including functional safety systems, SIL/HIL validation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, commissioning, and vehicle-level system optimization. Ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-performance control solutions that enhance mining truck productivity, operational efficiency, and machine safety while supporting Agile project execution and continuous innovation.
Job Description
Design, develop, and maintain control software for Mining Trucks using PLC/ECU-based architectures and CODESYS programming platforms.Develop and implement machine control functions for powertrain, hydraulic, electrical, and battery-electric vehicle (BEV) systems for mining trucksDefine and implement functional safety requirements and safety-critical control features in accordance with industry standards.Perform Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and machine-level validation activities.Integrate controllers, sensors, actuators, HMI systems, and vehicle communication networks such as CAN/J1939.Develop, implement, and validate functional safety requirements and safety-critical control functions for mining trucks and earthmoving equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards and system requirements.Develop diagnostics, fault handling, condition monitoring, and fail-safe strategies to improve machine reliability and uptime.Support commissioning, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting activities on prototype and production machines.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, validation, and product engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of field issues related to machine controls and automation systems.Drive Agile project execution, technical reviews, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and functional safety requirements.
Experience Requirements
10-12+ years of experience in Control Systems Engineering for Mining Trucks, Earthmoving Equipment, Off-Highway Vehicles, Mobile Equipment, or Industrial Automation applications. Mining industry added advantage.
Knowledge
Strong expertise in PLC, ECU, HMI, and SCADA software development, integration, and commissioning.Hands-on experience with CODESYS-based controllers (IFM preferred) and IEC 61131-3 programming languages.Strong knowledge of developing and validating control functions for powertrain, hydraulic, electrical, and battery-electric vehicle (BEV) systems.Good understanding of functional safety concepts, safety-critical control systems, and safety function implementation.Knowledge of SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing, verification, validation, and system integration.Strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols including CAN, CAN FD, J1939, Ethernet, and Modbus.Knowledge of diagnostics development, calibration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.Familiarity with safety industry standards such as ISO 13849, IEC 61508, and ISO 26262.Knowledge of control system architecture, requirements management, system integration, and Agile development methodologies.Familiarity with engineering tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, MATLAB/Simulink, and requirements management tools.
Educational Requirements
B.E. / B. Tech degree in Automation/Mechatronics & Controls Engineering from reputed institutions.
