About the role :

This role is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of Quality Assurance systems across raw material receipt, production, packaging, laboratory operations, and finished product release. The position serves as a key link between shop-floor operations, laboratory activities, suppliers, and quality systems, ensuring product quality, food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives are executed effectively.

The role requires a strong understanding of FSMS, IMS, GMP, HACCP, laboratory practices, process controls, and regulatory requirements while actively supporting operational excellence and governance standards at the site.

Qualification:

BSc/MSc - Food Tech, Biochemistry, Chemistry, microbiology, alcohol tech

BE/ B.Tech M.Tech- Food Tech/alcohol tech

Experience: 1-4 yrs of PQE from the relevant industry.

The prime function of this role is to:

Support the QA Head in the effective functioning of the QA department as per established quality systems.

Ensure evaluation and approval of incoming raw materials, packaging materials, intermediates, and finished products.

Execute and review daily testing of processed and incoming materials.

Lead investigation of quality deviations, customer complaints, non-conformities, and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Ensure calibration, maintenance, and verification of laboratory equipment and measurement systems.

Conduct trend analysis of quality parameters and drive improvement actions to enhance process capability and product consistency.

Utilize statistical tools for process and product quality monitoring.

Maintain and improve FSMS, FSSC 22000, HACCP, IMS, and GMP systems.

Drive compliance with SOPs, food safety, excise, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in supplier quality reviews, vendor assessments, and support vendor audits.

Support internal and external audits by maintaining robust documentation and closure of audit observations.

Train and coach Executives on quality procedures, laboratory practices, and quality standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality, food safety, and operational excellence.

Ensure effective utilization of allocated resources and laboratory consumables.

Support execution of quality activities within approved budgets.

Reduce quality-related losses, rework, customer complaints, and wastage.

Contribute to revenue protection through compliance and product quality assurance.

Support implementation of systems and process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness and food safety.
