We are looking for EHS Manager in Project (EHSMiP)
The EHS Manager shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Environment, Health & Safety systems to ensure a safe, healthy, and legally compliant workplace. The role focuses on accident prevention, statutory compliance, environmental protection, and continual improvement of EHS performance.
You’ll make a difference by
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, SOPs, and safe work practicesEnsure compliance with applicable EHS legislation, State & Central rules, and local statutory requirementsConduct risk assessments, HIRA, JSA, and recommend control measuresFocus on high-risk activities such as Electrical safety, Lifting safety, Work at Height safety and Material HandlingLead incidents, accidents, near miss investigations and ensure corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)Regulatory Compliance & LiaisonEnsure timely compliance with statutory permits, licenses, renewals, and returnsLiaise with government authorities such as traffic dept etc.Ensure adherence to environmental norms related to air, water, waste, hazardous chemicals, and effluentsTraining & AwarenessPlan and conduct EHS induction, toolbox talks, safety training, mock drills, and emergency response trainingCreate EHS awareness among employees, contractors, and visitorsPromote safety culture and behavior-based safety initiativesAudits & Management SystemsImplement and maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 management systemsPlan and conduct internal audits and coordinate external auditsClose audit nonconformities and drive continual improvementContractor & Site SafetyEnsure contractor safety management, permit-to-work systems, and complianceReview method statements, SOPs, and safety plans for activitiesConduct site inspections, safety walks, and compliance monitoringEmergency PreparednessDevelop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERP)Conduct mock drills for fire, chemical spill, medical emergencies, and other scenariosCoordinate with medical facilities, fire services, and emergency respondersReporting & DocumentationMaintain EHS records, registers, MSDS, legal compliance documents, and reportsPrepare EHS performance MIS, dashboards, and reports for managementAnalyze trends for incidents, unsafe acts, and conditions
Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering / scienceADIS Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety (Mandatory)Additional certifications such as NEBOSH / IOSH / ISO Lead Auditor (Preferred)8–12 years of relevant EHS experience, At least 3-8 years in Metro Telecom works Proven experience in project operations
