Job Purpose

The Post Mould Engineer oversees post-mold processing activities, including trimming, sanding, and surface finishing of wind turbine blades to achieve high-quality aerodynamic profiles. This role ensures surface quality management, performs rigorous quality checks, and operates post-mold processing equipment. The Post Mould Engineer also implements process improvements, maintains safety compliance, and manages resources to optimize production efficiency and output quality.

Responsibilities

Post-Mold Processing Oversight

Supervise post-mold processing activities, including trimming, sanding, and surface finishing of wind turbine blades to achieve required aerodynamic profiles and surface quality.Utilize advanced techniques such as robotic sanding and precision trimming to ensure consistent and high-quality blade finishes.

Surface Quality Management

Manage the application of coatings and paint on blades, including surface preparation and curing to achieve desired aesthetic and protective properties.Conduct detailed inspections to identify and address any surface defects or imperfections, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Quality Assurance and Testing

Perform rigorous quality checks on post-mold blades using methods such as ultrasonic testing and dye penetrant inspection to verify structural integrity and compliance with specifications.Document and address any quality issues, collaborating with other teams to implement corrective measures and improve overall blade quality.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Operate and maintain equipment used in post-mold processing, including sanding machines, coating systems, and inspection tools, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure consistent processing results.

Safety and Compliance
