The role
A supply chain analyst at an omnichannel beauty retailer analyzes supply chain operations using Microsoft Excel and inventory planning, and tracks warehouse and logistics performance with dashboarding tools. The role also applies SQL and BigQuery to operational data.
Full job description
What You'll Work On
Across B2C, B2B, logistics, warehouse operations, quick commerce, and inventory planning, the intern will contribute to:
Operational data analysis: Working with order, inventory, and logistics data to track performance across the supply chain network and surface patterns worth acting on.SLA & TAT tracking: Monitoring turnaround times and service levels across warehouse and logistics flows, and flagging deviations from target.Warehouse operations exposure: Understanding day-to-day floor operations — inbound, outbound, inventory accuracy — across fulfilment and distribution centres.Inventory planning support: Assisting with demand-supply matching, stock allocation, and distribution planning across nodes.Reporting & dashboards: Building and maintaining reports/dashboards on cost, availability, and efficiency metrics that operations teams use to make decisions.Cross-functional coordination: Working with warehouse, logistics, retail replenishment, and planning teams to help resolve day-to-day operational issues.
Operational Excellence - What We Expect
This internship isn't just about executing tasks — it comes with a standing expectation to bring an operational excellence mindset to everything you touch:
Continuous improvement: Don't just complete a task as given — look for ways to make the underlying process faster, cheaper, or less error-prone, and flag it.Root-cause orientation: When a number looks off or a process breaks, dig into why it happened rather than just reporting that it happened.Process discipline: Document what you find and what you fix clearly enough that someone else could pick it up — improvements should be repeatable, not one-off.Metric ownership: Be comfortable owning a metric end-to-end — tracking it, explaining its movement, and proposing what would move it in the right direction.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a B.Tech graduate or a final year student who thinks in numbers and structure first, and who genuinely wants to understand how physical supply chains work — not just analyze them from a spreadsheet.
Analytical strength: Comfortable with data — able to slice, structure, and interpret numbers, spot patterns, and question them before presenting.Logical, first-principles thinking: Can break down an ambiguous operational problem into its component parts without needing to be told how.Genuine interest in supply chain operations: Curious about how B2C and B2B flows, logistics networks, warehouses, quick commerce, and inventory planning actually function end-to-end.Ownership: Takes a task from raw data to a finished, presentable output without needing constant hand-holding.Communication: Can explain a number, a chart, or a finding clearly to someone who doesn't have the analytical background.
Skills And Tools Exposure
Strong working knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivots); SQL or BigQuery exposure is a strong plusBasic understanding of statistics and logical/quantitative reasoningFamiliarity with dashboarding tools (Metabase, Power BI, or similar) is a plus, not mandatoryExposure to supply chain, logistics, or operations coursework/projects is valuedComfortable working with large, sometimes messy, real-world datasets
What You Will Gain
Direct exposure to how a large-scale, multi-node supply chain network is actually run and measuredHands-on experience with real operational data, metrics, and decision-making — not simulated projectsOwnership of real analyses that feed into leadership-level decisionsCross-functional exposure across logistics, warehouse operations, retail replenishment, and planningA foundation in operational excellence thinking: root-cause analysis, defensible metrics, and structured reporting
Eligibility
Available for a 6-month internship commitmentWilling to work from Purplle Head Office, Vikhroli, Mumbai, with occasional site visits to FCs/DCs/dark stores where relevant
