Full job description

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to own and strengthen the monitoring, governance, and performance management of credit risk and ECL models. This role sits at the intersection of Risk, Finance, and Analytics, ensuring models remain accurate, compliant, and audit-ready under IFRS 9 / Ind AS 109

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Model Monitoring and Performance Management:

Own ongoing monitoring of credit risk and fraud risk models.

Design and execute monitoring frameworks covering predictive performance, stability, drift, and back-testing.

Identify early warning signals of model deterioration and recommend corrective actions.

ECL Framework Ownership:

Maintain and enhance the end-to-end ECL framework in line with IFRS 9 / Ind AS 109

Manage staging logic, SICR assessment, macroeconomic scenarios, probability weighting, and management overlays.

Partner with Risk and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely impairment calculations.

Model Governance, Audit, and Validation:

Act as the primary point of contact for internal auditors, external auditors, model validation teams, and regulators.

Respond to audit and validation queries related to model methodology, assumptions, data quality, and monitoring outcomes.

Ensure timely closure of audit and validation observations.

Documentation and Governance:

Prepare and maintain comprehensive model documentation, including methodologies, monitoring reports, change logs, and governance papers.

Support model approvals, reviews, and escalations through internal risk committees.

Ensure strong traceability and adherence to model risk management policies.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Reporting:

Work closely with Risk, Finance, Data, and Technology teams to ensure smooth model implementation and stability.

Prepare concise and insightful model performance and ECL reports for senior management and governance forums.

Success Metrics:

Models consistently performing within approved thresholds.

Accurate, timely, and regulatorily compliant ECL calculations.

Minimal audit and validation observations with timely closure.

Strong governance, documentation quality, and controlled model changes.

Requirements:

4+ years of experience in credit risk modelling, ECL modelling, or model risk management within a regulated financial institution.

Strong understanding of PD, LGD, EAD models, staging logic, SICR, and macroeconomic overlays.

Hands-on experience in model monitoring, back-testing, and performance tracking.

Proven experience working with auditors, validation teams, and regulators.

Working knowledge of Python (PySpark is a plus).

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex model concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
