About the Role
The Senior Risk Manager – Rural Lending is responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end risk management strategies for rural lending products. Based at the Mumbai Office, the role involves monitoring portfolio behaviour, forecasting trends, and ensuring adherence to risk controls. The position contributes directly to the Bank’s strategic objectives by driving risk governance, operational efficiency, and customer-centric policy frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Create dashboards and metrics to monitor portfolio performance, track behaviour, and forecast trends using risk management tools.Conduct regular asset quality reviews and provide analytical insights to identify risks and opportunities, recommending appropriate actions.Review and update program risk acceptance criteria in response to changes in legal/regulatory requirements, business strategies, market conditions, or portfolio performance.Strengthen controls to mitigate risks across onboarding, credit, operations, fraud, and reputation.Forecast portfolio trends, estimate potential losses, and implement control measures.Monitor portfolio delinquencies at a granular level, identifying high-risk segments, locations, and customer profiles.Align product risk appetite with growth objectives and the Bank’s Risk Appetite Framework, including risk-based pricing strategies.Drive technological interventions such as scorecards, digital journeys, and process automation to enhance efficiency.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to leverage synergies and ensure cohesive policy execution.
Secondary Responsibilities
Develop and revise policies in response to evolving business environments and goals.Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to strategic projects that enhance the Bank’s risk and policy framework.Provide thought leadership in policy development and risk governance.
What We Are Looking For
Education
Graduation: Full time graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.Post-graduation: MBA from a recognised institution.
Experience
Minimum of 6 years of experience in risk management, preferably in rural lending or retail banking within BFSI industry.
Skills and Attributes
