As a Software Engineer II at Nium, you will be an integral member of a cross-functional team, contributing to the development and maintenance of our core platforms. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to build scalable, high-quality software solutions that support our rapidly evolving business needs.

In this role, you will focus on hands-on development, writing clean, maintainable code, and participating in the full software development lifecycle. You’ll be expected to collaborate effectively with team members, follow engineering best practices, and continuously seek opportunities to improve both your skills and the team’s output.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Business Acumen : Develop an understanding of the company’s software platforms, business logic, and infrastructure. Technical Contribution : Design and implement features and fixes under guidance from senior engineersWrite clean, efficient, and testable code in line with project requirements and coding standards. Team Collaboration : Work effectively within a cross-functional team to deliver quality solutions Participate in peer reviews and follow agile development practicesContinuous Learning: Learn from more experienced team members through code reviews, pair programming, and training sessions. Stay current with relevant technologies and apply them in your workProblem Solving : Identify issues in code or systems and contribute to developing practical solutionsQuality Assurance : Follow testing practices and contribute to the quality and reliability of the codebase through unit and integration testsCommunication : Communicate technical details clearly and effectively with teammates and stakeholders

Requirements

Software Engineering :3-4 years of experience in backend or full-stack software developmentStrong foundation in software engineering principles and design patternsCurious, self-motivated, and passionate about building great software

Backend Development :

Proficient in Java and frameworks like Spring BootFamiliar with SQL and relational databasesExperience working with RESTful APIs

DevOps & Infrastructure :

Basic familiarity with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, and KafkaComfortable using Git and CI/CD pipelines

Testing & Quality:

Experience with unit testing and a strong focus on producing reliable software

Collaboration & Communication

Able to work in a team setting and communicate effectively with technical peers
