Role Overview:As the Retail HR Lead, you will hold complete end-to-end ownership of the retail HR charter at Traya—leading Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Employee Relations, and HR Business Partnering for Traya’s offline storefronts and field operations.You won’t just manage the hiring engine; you will build and lead the HR team driving our physical footprint. You will serve as the strategic custodian of culture, compliance, engagement, and retention across all retail locations, partnering directly with the Chief HR Heas to align our workforce strategy with aggressive revenue and expansion targets.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Talent Acquisition Leadership & Workforce StrategyStrategic Scaling & Capacity Planning: Partner directly with the Business Heads to build multi-quarter headcount forecasts, store-level capacity models, and strategic ramp-up schedules across geographies.TA Engine & Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of recruiters. Design, optimize, and oversee multi-channel sourcing strategies (specialist agencies, field mapping, local databases, campus partnerships, and direct sourcing) to lower cost-per-hire and time-to-fill.Employer Branding & Dropout Management: Build Traya’s employer brand in the retail ecosystem, setting up governance mechanisms to minimize candidate dropouts from offer release to Day 30.
2. Strategic Business Partnering & Employee Lifecycle ManagementCulture & Seamless Onboarding: Standardize and govern regional onboarding programs to ensure all field teams are culturally aligned, brand-trained, and performance-ready from Day 1.Frontline Engagement & Retention: Design high-impact engagement frameworks tailored specifically for a dispersed, shift-based, on-ground workforce to foster connection with Traya’s central brand and drive lower frontline attrition.Grievance Redressal & Labor Compliance: Serve as the final escalation point for retail employee relations. Maintain robust labor law compliance, manage complex disciplinary actions, and ensure fair, empathetic, and legally sound workplace practices across all regions.Attrition Analytics & Offboarding: Oversee exit governance, analyze root causes of voluntary attrition, and implement proactive, data-backed retention initiatives.
3. HR Operations, Governance & AnalyticsProcess Optimization & Governance: Standardize HR operations across regions, including offer approvals, background verification (BGV), field compliance, and HRIS integration.Executive Dashboards & Analytics: Establish real-time recruiting metrics, store productivity dashboards, and attrition trends to present actionable insights directly to C-suite leadership.
You’re a Great Fit If:Leadership Experience: You have 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with proven success leading a team across Talent Acquisition, HRBP, and HR Operations for a high-volume retail, FMCD, or D2C field workforce.Strategic & Operational Mastery: You possess full-stack HR expertise—capable of designing macro HR strategies while diving deep into ground-level operational bottlenecks.Frontline & Regional Expertise: You have a deep understanding of regional labor dynamics, local sourcing nuances, shift management, and frontline wage structures.Data-Driven & Business-Minded: You connect workforce metrics directly to retail business KPIs (e.g., store revenue per employee, ramp-up velocity, cost-per-hire, and attrition rates).Leadership & Stakeholder Management: You have strong executive presence, high emotional intelligence, and a track record of partnering effectively with CXOs and Business Heads.
Bonus Points If:You have built or scaled the retail HR function from early growth to nationwide scale for a top-tier D2C brand or modern trade retail chain.You have hands-on experience setting up HR tech stacks and automated tracking systems for dispersed field teams.
