About FatakcollectFatakcollect is a new initiate within the Fatakpay group (www.fatakpay.com), focused on retail debt acquisition and resolution. The business runs on two tracks:
1. Acquiring retail loan portfolios from banks, NBFCs and ARCs and collecting on them for our own account or in partnership with other FIs 2. Providing collection services to other lenders on a fee / success basis, without deploying capital.
Role OverviewWe are looking for a senior professional to build and drive both the ides of this business. On one side, you will source, evaluate and acquire retail loan portfolios - assessed on both valuation and collectability aspect. On the other, you will pitch to and win fee-based collection mandates from banks, NBFCs, and other lenders. This is a hands-on, front-ended role for someone who understands the retail loan purchase / sell-off process end to end and can independently take transactions and mandates from origination to closure.
Key Responsibilities
A. Portfolio Acquisition (Principal)Source retail loan portfolios available for sale from banks, NBFCs and ARCs — across DPD buckets, written-off pools and stressed assets.Evaluate portfolios from both a valuation and collectability standpoint — analysing vintage, bucket / DPD movement, historical resolution and roll rates, ticket size, geography, product mix and prior collection efforts.Build acquisition pricing and expected-recovery models; recommend bid levels and deal structures.Manage the full acquisition lifecycle — data room / due diligence, bidding, negotiation, documentation and closure — coordinating with credit, risk, finance, legal and collections.Structure transactions across direct purchase / assignment and ARC-led structures, as applicable.
B. Collection Service Mandates (Fee-based)Identify and pitch to banks, NBFCs and other lenders for third-party collection mandates on a fee / contingency basis.Structure commercials (fee %, success-linked slabs, SLAs) and negotiate mandate terms.Build and grow a pipeline of mandate opportunities; convert relationships into recurring, capital-light revenue.Work with internal collections and ops teams to ensure mandates are deliverable and margins are protected.
C. Relationships, Market & GovernanceBuild and maintain strong relationships across Banks, NBFCs, ARCs and other lenders.Track market pricing, buyer / seller appetite and fee benchmarks across retail asset classes.Ensure all acquisitions and mandates comply with applicable RBI and internal requirements.Support smooth portfolio handover, onboarding and post-deal / post-mandate monitoring.
Required Experience & SkillsMore than 10 years of experience in retail loan portfolio purchase / sale, distressed assets, collections or a related function.Direct, hands-on experience at an ARC, bank or NBFC on retail loan purchase / sell-off, with a clear understanding of the end-to-end process.Proven ability to evaluate portfolios on valuation and collectability and to build recovery / pricing assumptions.Existing relationships across banks, NBFCs, ARCs and institutional lenders.Good grasp of retail asset classes - personal loans, consumer / BNPL, credit cards, business loans, LAP, home and vehicle loans.Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills; able to run transactions and mandates independently.Strong analytical and communication skills.
