The Role
This is a senior role within International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) reporting to the Head of IWPB India with accountability for the Overseas Indian (OI) channel strategy. You’ll shape and deliver a strategy that grows deposits, wealth and remittances across key international corridors while strengthening customer experience and long-term client relationships. The role brings a strong cross-border focus and involves close partnership with overseas Group offices and International Banking Centres. Success means building sustainable revenue and market share, improving customer outcomes and ensuring the business operates within HSBC’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements. You’ll also set direction for teams and operating model changes that increase frontline capacity and improve productivity and cost discipline.
What You'll Be Doing
Formulate and implement the OI strategy to build on the current market shareOversee International Banking Centres and develop the International Booking Centre concept across key corridorsBuild deposits and wealth management growth across OI segments alongside remittance and FEX (foreign exchange) flowsEstablish new external partnerships and expand existing relationships to strengthen the OI propositionStrengthen customer experience and customer voice across the organisation to support retention and relationship expansionCoordinate cross-border collaboration with overseas Group offices to build referral models and corridor growth plansEmbed risk management and regulatory compliance across the OI business including cross-border, AML and sanctions requirementsDevelop training and accreditation roadmaps across overseas markets to build capability across sales and support teams
What We're Looking For
Bring substantial experience managing Offshore and NRI (Non Resident Indian) client segments in a senior, multi-geography roleDemonstrate a proven record of building and growing an Overseas Indian business across different countriesShow strong understanding of IWPB products across assets, wealth and liabilities and what drives performance and profitabilityApply established capability in customer segmentation, proposition development and go-to-market executionCommunicate effectively with senior stakeholders and customer groups including C-suite and TreasurersInfluence across business lines and geographies to deliver coordinated outcomes in a matrix environmentInterpret local and cross-border regulations and compliance guidelines to support franchise growth within risk appetiteComplete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment as required
