Job Title: Citrix - IT Infrastructure Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Citrix Xen Hypervisor Administrator to manage and support our virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Citrix XenServer (Xen Hypervisor) environments, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security of our virtualized systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Citrix XenServer/Xen Hypervisor environments.Manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, snapshots, and storage repositories.Experience in migration of virtual machines from another hypervisor (VMware) to Citrix XEN hypervisorMonitor system performance and proactively address issues related to CPU, memory, disk, and network usage.Perform regular patching, upgrades, and system tuning of the hypervisor environment.Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual environments.Collaborate with networking, storage, and security teams to ensure end-to-end infrastructure health.Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.Troubleshoot and resolve hypervisor-related issues, including hardware compatibility and VM performance.Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.Provide after-hours support as and when needed during incident/planned activities
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).4 to 5+ years of experience administering Citrix XenServer/Xen Hypervisor.Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, storage networking (iSCSI, NFS), and resource scheduling.Familiarity with tools like Citrix Hypervisor Center, XenCenter, and command-line interfaces (xe, xl).Experience with monitoring tools such as Promethius, Zabbix, or similar.Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation tasks.Familiarity with backup solutions (Commvault) in virtual environments.Good communication and documentation skills.Knowledge on VMware hypervisor would be added advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V) or higher.Experience with Citrix Cloud, Citrix VDI, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD).Knowledge on other hypervisors like VMware ESXi, KVM etc. will be added advantage.Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid virtualization scenarios.
