Business Description

This function brings together distinct specialisms to drive greater connectivity in how we manage engagement with key stakeholders for HSBC.

Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts. Sustainability teams lead the bank’s work to support sustainable growth in a global economy, including an ambitious plan to prioritise financing that supports the transition to net zero. Group External Communications teams – including colleagues from Media Relations, ESG Communications and Group Reputation – deliver communication strategies that support HSBC’s strategic objectives, protect our reputation and build trust among our stakeholders.

Our global team of finance professionals’ partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward-looking analysis; accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the INM IWPB Business Finance team.

Principal Responsibilities

As a member of the IWPB Finance team, support the IWPB business by providing deeper insight into product profitability and the key drivers of returns. Deliver regular financial analysis, management information (MI), and clear commentary to explain month-on-month movements and trends in the profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet. Implement and maintain standardized reports and financial tools that highlight key business drivers and associated KPIs, enabling a concise and consistent understanding of business performance and results. Provide dedicated specialist finance support that responds quickly to business needs, offers an objective view of performance, develops robust plans, and contributes to IWPB governance and control processes. Improve consistency, transparency, and control in financial analysis by using globally aligned MI and well-defined, robust data sources and inputs. Support the coordination and assessment of financial plans, targets, and forecast updates for India IWPB, including the preparation of summary analytics and presentations for stakeholders. Provide insight into business performance and competitiveness versus peers, supported by sound financial analysis and forecasting; identify emerging issues, highlight areas of concern, and recommend actions where required

Qualifications/Requirements

Post graduate qualifications of CA, MBA, CFA, etc preferred but not mandatory with over 3-4years of experience A high level of professional competence which helps to determine solutions around financial accounting procedures, controls, risk management and quality assurance. Good Communication and interpersonal skills Ability to ask the right questions and challenge

Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.

Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
