Full job description

Job Purpose:--

- Accountable for delivery, processes & controls of Treasury back office processes to meet/exceed demands on the Bank’s.

- Provide excellent front-to-back support in terms of processing activities across Funds Monitoring, Deal settlement, accounting, reconciliation, process improvements etc. by proactively revisiting process flows, day-to-day issue resolutions, etc.

- Regulatory and product environments are dynamic and ever-changing; the incumbent is expected to keep him/herself updated on the latest changes and ensure last mile deployments/practices on the shop floor through updated SOPs, Risk & Controls etc.

- The job requires to be a Back-office function for the TREASURY activities of the branch and is a regulatory requirement. It carries responsibility of Supporting Treasury Front Office in Processing, Confirming, Settling & Accounting of Treasury Transaction. The position also entails regulatory reporting, coordination with Auditors, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines & internal policies.

Key Result Areas

Management, Governance, Business relationship, Risk & Control Management

1. Responsible for Treasury back office functions including control over transactions entered into by the treasury front office.

2. Responsible for exchange position tallying, various periodic regulatory reporting both online as well as in hard copy.

3. Ability to effectively handle the regulators, auditors (external or internal), others.

4. Complete control over confirmation of contracts with counter parties. Adherence to RBI and internal guidelines.

5. Operate at an “always audit ready” state.

6. Proactively identify & influence change projects like process improvements, exception management etc. and transfer of activities to MGS

7. Jointly responsible for Treasury Back office functions including control over transactions entered by the treasury front office.

8. Jointly responsible for processing, confirming, settling & accounting of treasury products such as handle FX (Interbank & Merchant), Money Market (including issuance of CDs), Investment (SLR & Non SLR) & Derivatives (Options & Swaps).

9. Ensure timely & accurate monitoring of various regulatory limits such as CRR & SLR, overseas borrowing limit, prudential limit for borrowing & lending, etc. & internal limits such as currency wise position, notional limits, etc.

10. Ensure checking & tallying of exchange position at end of day & clearing of outstanding Nostro reconciliation entries.

11. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of RBI RBS & RBI Inspection data & assist line manager in effective coordination with RBI and thereby ensuring that there is nil delay / default to avoid any adverse remarks or penalty for RBI.

12. Work along with line manager towards ensuring a ‘Satisfactory Audit’ ratings (IA, RBI etc.). Closely work on all audit reports and responses and ensure proper and timely resolution / closures for items pertaining to Treasury Ops team.

13. Ensure complete control over confirmation of contracts with counter parties & customer forward underlying (basic knowledge of Trade finance required) and adherence to RBI and internal guidelines.

14. Undertake preparation of funds management sheet by coordination with various departments & provide support to TFO for managing daily liquidity.

15. Ensure that month end revaluation of foreign exchange deal & investment is accurate happening thru FMC.

16. Undertake activity of Rate scan process prescribed by RBI

17. Ensure payments through RTGS/NEFT/SWIFT are done within time.

18. Support line manager in periodic Review of SOP relate to treasury Ops, Policies etc.

19. To keep track of all the latest regulatory guidelines and circulars and ensure that they are adhered to.

20. Act as a backup for line manager and manage the overall functioning of the TBO in absence of the line manager.

21. Ensure accurate and timely preparation & submission of all regulatory returns related to Treasury & other returns being handled by Treasury Ops.

22. Support line manager in activities such as undertaking UAT, reviewing of results, etc. related to various system enhancement programs.

23. Assist line manager in the various CCIL related activities such as margin placement & withdrawal with CCIL, settlement of monthly bills, tracking of various reports thru report browser & reporting of deals under trade repository, etc & deposit and withdrawal of securities under 11(2)(b) with RBI.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Min Bachelor’s degree, Post-graduation in Management preferred

Minimum 8-10 experience across Treasury Back office operations

Preferably with relevant professional certificate etc.

Good knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements in the concerned operational area.

Solution provider who caters to both the business groups and customer service requirements while maintaining adequate levels of control.

Very effective verbal and written communications skills.
