Job Purpose

Database Administrator is responsible for managing Database across various technologies. He needs to assess database performance, develop performance metrics, coordinate project activities with other team members, develop detailed project plans. He is responsible for sizing Database servers based on the requirement, providing database related support for capacity & performance management, change & incident management, planning & upgrading end of life & end of support database products, adhere to defined compliance & security measures, identify query, which is impacting database performance, ensure that database management systems can handle massive quantities of data. Need to keep himself updated with latest technologies

Managing Database technology towards maximizing uptime of Database infrastructure.Is responsible for availability of Database InfrastructureAnalyze queries & identify the one which is impacting database performanceEnsure that database management systems (DBMS) can handle massive quantities of dataAssess & ensure ultimate database performanceCapacity planning to ensure future business requirements are metInteract with Business for IT Infra requirementKeep updated with latest technologies. Coordinate with Shared Services

IT security adherence & Audit- Manage the Information Security & Audit processes effectively to ensure data security & act on audit findings

Implementing best information security practices & tools for Database hosted on-premises or public clouds.Ensure security complianceMake sure no repeat & high risk audit issuesEnsure points highlighted in vulnerability assessment are closed

Vendor Management-Effectively manage vendors to get the desired output from them

Manage vendors and external suppliers to deliver the required project quality within defined cost & timeframes.Monitor & manage performance of vendors as per the performance metrics defined
