Job Purpose
To provide medical services to MCW employees and their families and others as per the company policy. Emergency and critical care services around the clock. To conduct pre-employment examination and annual medical checkups as per legal requirement. Undertake Medical & Health Services to all working in the plant and their families and Rural Health development to create a healthy environment for better productivity of the Unit and to build a better social image. To create initiatives for awareness on various diseases disease prevention as well as impart trainings on First aid/CPR on time to time basis.
Job Context & Major Challenges
Job Context: - UltraTech Cement Ltd. is the largest manufacturer of grey cement, Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) and white cement in India. The Company has a consolidated capacity of 137.85 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) of grey cement. UltraTech has 23 integrated manufacturing units, 29 grinding units, one Clinkerisation unit and 8 Bulk Packaging Terminals.
Maihar Cement Works is a modern cement plant with a high level of automation, computer-aided data acquisition & sophisticated control system, which ensures quality at every stage of production. The Unit is strategically located at Sarlanagar at a distance of about 8 Kms from the town of Maihar on Maihar-Dhanwahi Road in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh. About 45 Kms South-East of Satna, a hub of Cement Industries in India. Maihar is situated at the Main Railway line of Howrah-Mumbai. It is one of the famous dots in the mythological map of India and also regarded as the abode of Goddess Sharda.
The Unit has a clinker production capacity of 3.0 MTPA, Cement Production capacity of 4.2 MTPA & manufactures OPC 43, OPC 53 & PPC grade of cement with Environment clearance for cement production capacity enhancement to 6.0 MTPA. Unit also has a solar power plant of installed capacity 12.5 MW DC / 8.75 MW AC and is equipped with the latest technology & equipment’s. The Normal Power requirement of the Unit is about 47.5 MW which is being met through our two nos. TPP of a total capacity of 2 x 15.7 MW. We have also a contract demand of 22 MVA with MPPKVVCL.

Job Challenges
Maihar is over 40-year-old unit and maximum employees are from CTIL era with least focus on health as such completing Annual Health Checkup and engaging employees in wellness initiatives is a challenge. Improving the medical infrastructure in the Unit. Providing critical /emergency health care to nearby village population with limited resource. Digitisation of medical services and skill development of Hospital Staff.

KRA1 Accountability
Daily Routine & Emergency Statutory Requirement Preventive Health Care ? 24*7 Attending emergency services and opd services as per timings. Statutory Requirement –To carry out medical examination of all employees and contractual Manpower as per requirement, Maintenance of Health records as per law, ensuring compliance as per company and government law. Preventive Health Care-Through health education, training and promotional activities.
KRA2 Curative care: ? Curative care: -Free consultation camps, Liaison with outside doctors and professionals, Minor emergency procedures
Maternal Health care: Ante-natal care Counselling Family Planning services Immunization programme. Visit of consultants as per requirement. Awareness on nutrition & General care/ Master school health check-up. Liaison & referral services.
KRA3 General ? General: Helping government in implementing all national and international health programs.
Routine visit to hazardous areas to update the situation. Regular feedback and effective communication all round. To advocate for healthy workplace. Collect data on workers’ health, environmental hazards and to asses needs and health concern of the workforce. To mobilize and train the staff to develop departmental plans of action for health promotion in their workplace. Oversee implementation of plan of action in a time bound frame

Build strong believe and adherence among team about “I know my job”, “I know the hazards associated with my job and I applied control measures” & “I escalate to my senior” among manpower deployed in sections/department manpower including peer, O&S, WB & CL manpower Ensure strict compliance of procedures in routine jobs and Adhering of all safety precautions on the site and off the site Timely conducting self and team scheduled SO round and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses on occurrences in section head in system To ensure daily Tool Box Talk and deliberating on safety incident or knowledge sharing Active participation in safety training, safety sub committees, standard champions meeting and any safety event by self and team Ensure that there is no waste of power in section, no leakage of water, oil, air etc. and time to time auditing and rechecking such areas for timely action

KRA6 System Management:-
(Implementing & monitoring effective execution of IMS and other systems in the Section for overall improvements towards productivity and creating safe work culture) 1. To plan & execute timely ABOEF process activities in respective Section like 5S, BCE, hygiene, Model area, illumination, good maintenance practices, visual & Lubrication management, QCDIPSHE performance, Kaizen, OPL, improvement projects etc. for internal customer satisfaction.
Review procedure requirements & recommend amendments for continuous improvement. Actively taking lead in meetings for implementation good practices in improving associated KFA and GRT performance and carry out internal audits to ensure effective implementation of systems To inculcate team for reducing repetitive nature problem, training other on tacit knowledge, adapting new technology, bring kaizen & improvement projects, adherence & develop preservation SOP's. Ensure proper implementation of IMS standards by timely Updation of documents & control, reviewing standards requirements, taking corrective & preventive action against findings internal and external audit/assessments finding for timely closure for 100% compliance.Develop Area owner ship culture.CLIT for every equipment.Dispaly critical work SOP at site.
