This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of events, including conferences, social functions, and corporate gatherings, ensuring they meet brand standards and guest expectations. Daily responsibilities include liaising with clients to understand event requirements, preparing proposals and event orders, coordinating with internal departments such as sales, catering, and operations, and overseeing event setup and breakdown. The Assistant Manager – Events monitors event timelines, manages budgets and invoicing, and ensures that all logistics, audiovisual needs, and service details are handled efficiently. The role also involves supervising event staff on the floor, resolving guest issues promptly, gathering post-event feedback, and contributing to continuous improvement of the hotel’s events offering.QualificationsEvent management and coordination skills, including experience planning and executing corporate and social events.Strong client relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills.Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events and deadlines.Basic budgeting, cost control, and reporting skills relevant to event operations.Knowledge of hospitality standards and familiarity with hotel event spaces and banquet operations.Proficiency with office and event management software (e.g., MS Office, event booking systems).Relevant experience in hospitality or event management; prior hotel events or banquet experience is an advantage.Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business, or a related field preferred.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a service-focused, collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
