Role & responsibilities

Process development and Basic Engineering:

Create and develop basic engineering package content like PID's MEB's PFD's.

Analyze and examine results from R and D to ensure data sufficiency.

Recommend special equipment and changes to the process to improve the process.

Perform sizing estimates and calculations using simulation tools.

Perform safety calculations for the plant relief devices.

Analyze plant data to establish operating regime.

Use this data to develop operating windows for process scale up.

Work with R and D during process optimization and scale up for process development.

Detailed engineering:

Perform basic checks on detailed engineering content to ensure that Basic engineering integrity has been maintained.

Troubleshoot and debug design issues at detailed Engineering stage.

Provide assistance to commissioning teams during final plant start-up for troubleshooting and debugging.

Simulation and modelling:

Use simulation tools like Aspen and CFD extensively for basic and detailed design calculations.

Develop custom tools to use for engineering applications.

Work with vendors and software services providers to develop special simulation models.
