Senior Hardware Engineer II – Electronics Development

Role Summary
Lead the design, development, certification, testing, and production support of safety-critical electronic products within Honeywell's Thermal Solutions business. The role requires expertise in hardware design, functional safety, regulatory compliance, product certification, and collaboration with global engineering and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and flame detection electronics from concept through production release. Analyze product requirements and develop hardware architecture, schematics, PCB designs, and BOMs. Perform component selection, circuit simulation, design reviews, and technical risk assessments. Execute hardware bring-up, debugging, root cause analysis, and product validation. Plan and conduct functional, environmental, reliability, EMI/EMC, and safety testing to verify product performance and compliance. Ensure compliance with IEC 61508 Functional Safety standards up to SIL3. Perform FMEDA, FMEA, fault analysis, and reliability assessments. Support product certifications including UL, CSA, CE, and EMC/EMI requirements and work with certification agencies. Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, quality, sourcing, and certification teams throughout the product lifecycle. Coordinate with manufacturing/factory teams for NPI, production support, yield improvement, cost optimization, and issue resolution. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics/Electrical Engineering. 8+ years of experience in electronics hardware product development. Hands-on experience with Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, or equivalent design tools. Functional Safety Certification (TÜV FS Engineer/Professional) preferred. Experience in industrial, combustion, flame safety, thermal control, or other safety-critical products is highly desirable.
