Process Overview

Financing & Clearing provides clearing and execution services to various Broker-Dealer Clients domiciled in United States. It also provides securities clearing services for its own account and for unaffiliated Broker-Dealers. In addition, Financing & Clearing offers clearance, execution, financing, and operational requirements in equities, options, fixed income, and international securities along with a Web-based trading tool for electronic downloads of various brokerage related information. Financing & Clearing was incorporated in 1982 and operates as a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated.

Job Description

Individual will be responsible for offering streamline operational support focusing on increased levels of service while offering our agency & market making clients an established foundation for Equity and Fixed Income securities within the Institutional environment for all markets US and Non-US. There will be immediate attention and focus to our client requests & needs. Proactively addressing potential trade booking, and settlement issues, capturing exception exposure, adding controls, reducing risk and exposure to the firm. Our focus and drive is to increase levels of service while streamlining and improving process trade flows and infrastructure.

Responsible for providing a direct relationship to all clients based on client tier. Support pre-matching of trades, value date settlement matching, client inquiries, receive / deliver exceptions, validation and timely communication of all potential compliance Buy In's, and root cause analysis and issue resolution of fails.

Responsibilities

Understanding & responding to client queries via email or phone call.

Ensuring matching of all the trades in International & Domestic markets for F&C clients for settlement

Liaising with settlements & other support team on a regular basis for any exceptions, risk or delay in settlement of trades

Understanding the risk in the process, highlighting the gaps in controls.

Understanding the process front to back & identifying the opportunities to automate to increase efficiency

To understand the Escalation guidelines to promptly address and escalate financial and negative client exposure situations

Requirements

Education - Graduate- Finance stream

Experience Range - 3-5 years

Foundational Skills

Basic Excel knowledge

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with clients & various internal stakeholders

Good understanding of capital markets

Equity trade settlements experience

Must have a good focus & attention to details.

Ability to meet tight deadlines

Ability and willingness to continuously learn on the job

Desired Skills - Client Service Exposure

Work Timings 13:30 to 10:30 IST
