As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be involved throughout the development lifecycle of Infor Birst development team with responsibility in the quality assurance of software development and deployment with emphasis on development and implementation of test automation. You'll be involved in the creation of business requirements inputting the test scripts and test scenarios to ensure developers understand the business requirements so that they can be effectively tested.

You will be working closely with developers as they develop code to ensure requirements are being met and to the correct quality, and you will conduct automated (and manual tests where necessary) to ensure the software created is fit for purpose. During testing you will be thinking "outside of the box" to understand the various scenarios and configurations that customers use to ensure customer quality is maintained and through doing so drive regression testing across the products. You will be responsible for defining and driving innovative automated testing strategies and toolsets into our overall development processes that support and enhance the current Quality Assurance processes within Birst.

We are seeking exceptional QA automation engineers to join our team in Ahmedabad, India to design and execute test suites for our Business Intelligence and Analytics products. In addition to regular quality assurance activities, automating tests using common automation frameworks such as TestNG and Selenium, is a requirement. Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile development teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery of highly concurrent systemEvangelize new testing methodologies, best practices, and tools with goals to continuously improve test coverage through automationProactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team, generating, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions to solve themBe meticulous about documentation and maintain test cases and test results.Designing, developing, and supporting frameworks for test infrastructure and providing automation expertiseResearch, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automationEnsure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team lead on the status of qualityWork closely with the Product Management and Development TeamsBe a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional ‘edge cases’ outside of expected functionality workflowTest backend API's (REST and SOAP) and front-end UI applicationsMentor team members on automationWillingness to work across time zones to interact with different stakeholders located across US west coast, Europe, and India and ready to work in shifts.Willingness to work from office 5 days a week.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience as hands on Software QA/automation EngineerStrong programming/scripting ability in any language, preferably JavaThorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environmentsExperience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Selenium, Groovy, Junit, TestNG, SoapUI, RESTful ClientProficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processesStrong working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD & BDDExpertise testing RESTful, SOAP web services in SOA systemWorking knowledge of Database conceptsDemonstrated knowledge of CI/CD tools to integrate the Automation scriptsManual & Automation testing experience with Generative AI based Application.Strong experience in testing ETL, BI and SaaS solutionsA high degree of self-motivation and flexibility with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasksThe ability to interact creatively and achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic small company environmentExcellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

Domain knowledge in Business Intelligence or Data AnalyticsPrior experience working with systems such as ActiveMQ, MongoDB, Elastic-Search and nginxPrior experience with security protocols such as OAuth and SAML and related frameworksWorking knowledge of virtualization and Infrastructure as Service solutions such as Amazon Web ServicesBuilding test infrastructures using containerization technologies such as Docker and working within continuous delivery / continuous release pipeline processesAI Tools & Adaptability: Proficiency in using AI tools for test generation, self-healing, and Automation. Being open to learning new AI tools and integrating them into QA workflows effectively. Leverage AI to enhance the testing processes and improve efficiency.ISTQB, CSQA or CSTE certified
