Job DescriptionAbout the RoleLead the Functional Controlling team by driving financial governance, month-end closure excellence, balance sheet integrity, compliance and process transformation across assigned businesses and entities.The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust balance sheet governance, timely closure of books, compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen financial processes, drive continuous improvement, and deliver actionable business insights.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Closure & ControllershipLead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closure activities across assigned entities and business units.Ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.Review and validate provisions, accruals, reclassifications, and other critical accounting entries.Monitor compliance with closure timelines and corporate reporting requirements.Identify and review non-routine transactions, ensure appropriate accounting treatment, and report key exceptions to management.Coordinate with Business Finance, GBS, GFRT and other stakeholders to ensure smooth closure execution.2. Balance Sheet Governance & HygieneDrive periodic review of balance sheet schedules with BU teams and ensure timely actions.Monitor ageing and closure of outstanding balances across advances, creditors, provisions, assets and liabilities.Identify financial risks, control gaps, and drive corrective actions.Ensure strong governance over balance sheet substantiation and review processes.3. Financial Reporting & Analytical ReviewPerform analytical review of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet movements.Ensure meaningful variance analysis and management commentary.Support periodic management reviews and reporting requirements.4. Compliance, Internal Controls & Audit ManagementEnsure compliance with IFRS, Ind AS, SOX, corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.Act as finance SPOC for internal audits, statutory audits, SOX testing and management reviews.5. Process Excellence & Finance TransformationLead finance transformation and automation initiatives:Act as a Functional Lead for digital solutions related to accrual management and lease accounting.Drive process simplification, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.Support special projects and strategic finance assignments.Promote data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.6. Team Leadership & Capability BuildingLead and mentor a team of finance professionals.Build technical and functional capabilities within the team.Ensure effective succession planning and knowledge management.QualificationsRequired Qualifications & ExperienceChartered Accountant (CA).7-10 years of progressive experience in Controllership, Financial Reporting, Audit, or Corporate Finance.Exposure to consolidated financial reporting and audit committee interactions preferred.Key CompetenciesStrong technical accounting and controllership expertise.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and presentation skills.High attention to detail and commitment to quality.Stakeholder management and business partnering capability.Positive, proactive, and continuous-improvement mindset.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
