Infor is seeking an Associate Software Engineer with 1 to 3 years of software development experience in IBMi and Java development, who is passionate about developing high-quality, scalable software solutions. The successful candidate will understand business and technical requirements, design, code and test new features, troubleshoot application issues, build solutions, and prepare technical and user documentation. The role requires a close collaboration with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver products that drive business value for our customers. This role is ideal for early-career engineers who thrive in collaborative, agile environments and are eager to grow technical and leadership skills.

A Typical Day In The Life Includes

Understand business and technical requirements and translate them into software solutions. Design, develop, test, and document new features, enhancements, and system modifications according to Infor standards. Maintain and improve existing applications. Troubleshoot defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement appropriate solutions.Prepare test data and complete unit and integration testing before handing off to the functional and QA teams.Create and maintain technical designs, user documentation, installation procedures, and maintenance documentation.Provide estimates for assigned development activities and deliver software according to requirements and project plans.Learn and work with existing development tools, applications, and frameworks.Collaborate with development, functional, QA, support, and other product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.1 to 3 years of software development experience with ILE, RPGLE, CLLE, DB2 for IBM i, SQL, and Free-Format RPG.Experience in one or more programming languages like Java, jQuery, JavaScript, etc.Good understanding of software development methodologies, design, implementation, and testing. Understanding the development process, including requirements, specifications, documentation, unit testing, integration testing, and quality assurance.Good analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.Ability to understand existing application code and troubleshoot software issues. Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to IBM i, AS/400, or System i application development.Understanding of the IBM i operating environment, including IFS, security, subsystems, commands, and service programs.Experience with Infinium applications or other Infor ERP products.Understanding of Servlets, JavaScript, jQuery, UI, Angular, HTML, XML, CSS, XSL, JSP, AJAX, JSON, and SQL will be an added advantage.Familiarity with software configuration management or source control tools.Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to learn new technical and functional skills.Strong team-player mindset with effective communication skills.
