Job Title: EHS Operations Lead

Job Purpose

Support the regional sites in order to ensure that the unique needs of the regional sites are understood and incorporated into the regional EH&S Program.Provide leadership and hands-on assistance to ensure a safe, secure and compliant workplace across the region, delivering outstanding EH&S work process implementation, EH&S performance and sustaining the License to Operate.Work in close partnership with EH&S Leadership to ensure all work processes and resources are in place and properly utilized and aligned.Partner with Hub Leaders, EH&S Center of Excellence (CoE) and Site Leadership to ensure appropriate, consistent implementation and maintenance of EH&S work processes, best practices and most effective technologies; coordinate, align priorities and initiatives; drive initiatives /projects; audit the effectiveness of work processes and implementation; analyze performance data for trends and identify opportunities for improvement across the region.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Planning

Align personal and team EH&S objectives with platform, regional, functional and site strategies and priorities.Collaborate closely with the EH&S Leader to ensure plans are well communicated and supported.Assist Regional EH&S Leader with providing environmental, Industrial Hygiene (IH), health, safety, process safety/containment, and motor vehicle leadership, support and expertise to the regional sites in a manner that is compatible with local issues and culture.Measure functional performance against goals, client expectations and work with EH&S Leader to develop improvement plans.

Work Process / Improvement

Acts as the regional focal point for EH&S disciplines (environmental, IH, health, safety, process safety/containment, and motor vehicle, etc.).Partner with Operations / R&D to leverage resources in order to drive EH&S performance by utilizing all available EH&S tools and work processes.Leads EH&S regional improvement projects and initiatives.Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks / activities and acts as the area resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.Provides hands-on environmental, IH, health, safety, process safety/containment, and motor vehicle, EH&S work process, standards and procedure assistance for assigned sites as indicated.Analyze and evaluate site EH&S performance to identify and implement opportunities for improvement Supports site compliance with Corporate EH&S Standards and Governmental Regulatory Requirements. Provide local input to Regional EH&S Leader for regulatory strategies and advocacy. Supports regional self-assessment, audit, regulatory compliance corrective action completion & validation.Supports regional corporate Process Safety and Containment work process implementation.Ensures all appropriate IH programs, monitoring and health surveillance requirements are met.Facilitates incident investigations and root cause analyses. Support contractor companies with site EHS standards compliance.Assist site responses to geographic and/or site EH&S / Emergency Response & Security (ER&S) issues (in concert with ER&S Team) and crises that affect operations consistent with site, business, and corporate "license to operate" requirements. Supports Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) EH&S elements for the regional area sites.Implement, utilize, maintain and promote EH&S management systems (ODMS).Ensures minimization of local customization of EH&S / ER&S management systems whenever possible and leads / champions management system reviews in order to drive continuous improvement. Supports cost-effective delivery of EH&S and ER&S systems. Provide expertise and support for site environmental stewardship, waste management and remediation (where indicated).Ensure delivery of required EH&S training.Lead, support, participate in and/or provide data for EH&S audits / assessments / compliance initiatives.Collects, analyzes, calculates and inputs data for EH&S reporting as necessary.Performs field observations and safety interventions.Completes documentation and facilitates waste characterizations.Monitors EH&S compliance tasks completion.Initiates and/or supports Site Management of Change (MoC) for EH&S matters as necessary.Links to EH&S CoE to obtain clear interpretations on site-specific regulatory processes, regulations, laws and associated procedures.As required, participates in the environmental, IH, health and safety related reviews and project support.Aligns with Information Technology (IT) initiatives, updates, cyber security processes and tools.

Networks

Participate in global cross-functional networks and leadership teams.Participate and support regional EH&S network in order to drive improvement and facilitate change.Support community initiatives and/or communication networks in order to sustain the companies' public 'License to Operate'.Support EH&S advocacy initiatives including proactive value-based participation in relevant regional area industry, professional associations and external networks per the direction of the Regional EH&S Leader.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s/Masters degree in an applicable scientific discipline is required; Professional certification where applicable10+ years of relevant industry experience, knowledge and skills in a manufacturing / industrial environmentFluent in EnglishWilling to travel 30-50%
