Quality Assurance Analyst, Associate

Description

The Associate Quality Assurance Analyst is an early-career QA professional who supports test planning, API validation, functional testing, regression testing, and automation efforts for AI Governance, Compliance, and Gen AI Platform Improvements. This role is expected to bring strong testing fundamentals, curiosity to understand service behavior, and a willingness to grow into API testing and Playwright-based automation while working closely with developers, QA leads, business analysts, and scrum teams.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes:

Understand requirements, acceptance criteria, user stories, and API behavior to identify meaningful test scenarios.

Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across web applications, APIs, and service workflows.

Validate REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or comparable API testing tools.

Create and maintain clear test cases, test data, defect reports, and execution evidence.

Work with developers and senior QA team members to reproduce issues, verify fixes, and ensure quality before release.

Support automation efforts using Playwright or similar UI/API automation frameworks where applicable.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide timely updates on testing progress, risks, and blockers.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on software quality assurance experience.

Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, including test scenario identification, test case creation, defect lifecycle, regression testing, and release validation.

Exposure to API testing using Postman, Swagger, curl, REST clients, or comparable tools.

Ability to understand basic request/response structures, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and JSON payloads.

Good analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to isolate, reproduce, and communicate defects clearly.

Basic understanding of Agile delivery practices and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.

Baseline AI literacy, including understanding how AI works, recognizing useful AI scenarios, evaluating AI outputs, and using AI responsibly.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to Playwright automation for web UI testing, API testing, or end-to-end validation.

Basic scripting or programming experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or a comparable language.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and test execution in build or release processes.

Experience testing cloud-native, API-driven, or integration-heavy applications.

Interest in learning GenAI platform testing, AI governance scenarios, and quality practices for LLM-backed features.
