The Position

Job Description

The Senior Lead Engineer defines tasks for others and drives medium to large-scale initiatives across a product or product line. In this strategic role, you will coach and lead other engineers, excel in stakeholder negotiations, and provide direction for mid to long-term goals. You will actively contribute to technical knowledge through publications, inspire innovation, and lead the design of complex multi-service solutions. With expertise in advanced cloud features and Kubernetes, you will promote architectural consistency, drive technical strategy for major components, and mentor senior engineers to ensure the highest standards of engineering quality across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Design and maintain end-to-end data solutions using AWS ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirementsDevelop scalable and efficient data models, pipelines, and workflows within the AWS environmentCollaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and solutionsAs needed, collaborate with other team members and external contractors to enhance technical solutions. Coordinate their work, provide guidance, and ensure alignment with project goalsData Integration:Implement data integration solutions to ingest, transform, and manage large datasets from various sources into AWS and SnowflakeEnsure data quality, consistency, and security throughout the data life cycleDevelop documentation related to data management processes, procedures, and data dictionariesScope / Accountability/Problem Solving: Defines tasks for others and successfully drives medium to large (M/L) initiatives across a Product or Product Line. Challenges others in a growth-enabling way, effectively leverages team strengths, and acts as a coach and lead for other engineersStakeholder Management: Demonstrates a strong grasp of stakeholder ecosystems and their needs, excelling in negotiations and partnerships for mutual benefits. Provides clear direction to mid- to long-term goals and objectivesImpact/Strategy: Provides global-level support for innovative and technological initiatives. Actively gives speeches and shares knowledge at global and international events, and drives tech universities, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Qualifications

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experienceDemonstrated experience leading complex AWS/cloud-native solutions and mentoring senior engineersProven track record of contributing to the technical strategy for major components/services and participating in global knowledge-sharing events

Technical Skills

Strong experience as a Lead Engineer, Tech Lead, Cloud Architect, or similar senior engineering roleDeep understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, with hands-on experience designing for High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and multi-region active-active deploymentsHands-on expertise with AWS, including services such as EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, IAM, AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions and CloudWatchStrong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and HelmProficiency in one or more languages such as Python or TypeScript/JavaScriptStrong experience designing REST APIs, GraphQL, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecturesExperience with data modeling and database design across SQL and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as PostgreSQL, RDS, DynamoDB and SnowflakeExperience with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and RAG architectures for AI-enabled applicationsFamiliarity with agentic AI frameworks and platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent technologiesExperience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code and GitHub Actions or equivalent for CI/CDExperience with observability technologies such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, and LangSmithStrong understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, threat modeling, automated testing, and DevSecOps practicesAdvanced AWS Networking expertise, including complex VPC design, Transit Gateway, Route 53, CloudFront, and Application/Network Load Balancers (ALB/NLB)Proven ability to mentor senior engineers, lead technical design reviews, and communicate complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience with Cloud FinOps, proactively monitoring cloud spend, optimizing compute/storage resources, and managing costs associated with LLM API usage and scalable infrastructureHands-on experience with asynchronous messaging and streaming platforms, including Amazon SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, or Apache Kafka to power highly decoupled systems
