Define the microservices decomposition strategy (e.g., strangler-fig pattern) and service/domain boundaries for the monolith

Own the technical roadmap for migrating from .NET Framework to modern .NET (.NET 8+)

Architect containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes deployment topology for Linux environments, including networking, scaling, and service mesh considerations

Define API contracts, inter-service communication (REST/gRPC/messaging), and data ownership boundaries

Produce high-quality architecture and design specifications; deliver POCs and estimates at short notice on technology choices

Lead architecture/design reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards

Set standards for observability, security, and GitLab CI/CD across all microservices

Mentor Lead and Senior Engineers; guide them to deliver high-quality design and code

Work across teams (including the UI/Frontend team) to ensure interoperability and integration
