The role

A backend developer at a semiconductor technology company builds NestJS microservices with TypeScript, GraphQL APIs, and MongoDB data models for distributed, real-time systems, and engineers Redis queues and AWS deployments.

Full job description

Responsibilities:

Design and build NestJS microservices in TypeScript with clean module boundaries and dependency injection patterns.

Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs consumed by web and mobile clients.

Implement real-time event delivery to thousands of concurrent connected clients via WebSockets.

Design MongoDB schemas for high-write, high-read workloads with proper indexing strategies.

Build async job processing pipelines using Redis-backed queues with retry, backoff, and dead-letter handling.

Write event-driven service communication: pub/sub, fan-out, and consumer group patterns.

Own AWS deployments; containerized services on ECS, secrets management, and CloudWatch monitoring.

Participate in code reviews and maintain architectural documentation.

The core requirements for the job include the following:

Backend:

3+ years building production backends with Node.js and TypeScript.

Strong hands-on experience with NestJS: modules, dependency injection, guards, interceptors, and pipes.

GraphQL: schema design, resolvers, and query execution.

MongoDB: schema design, aggregation pipelines, and indexing strategies.

Redis: caching, pub/sub, and job queue patterns.

WebSockets / Socket.io : real-time bidirectional communication at scale.

Experience designing for event-driven architectures, async messaging, fan-out, and idempotent processing.

Solid understanding of the Node.js async model and concurrency patterns.

REST API design: versioning, error handling, and pagination.

Cloud and DevOps:

AWS: ECS Fargate, ALB, S3 CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and IAM roles.

Docker: writing Dockerfiles, multi-stage builds, and docker-compose for local development.

CI/CD pipeline experience: GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitLab CI.

General:

Understanding of distributed systems: consistency tradeoffs, failure modes, and fault tolerance.

Experience building for high availability: retries, circuit breakers, and health checks.

Clean Git workflow: PR reviews, branching strategy, and commit hygiene.

Good to Have:

Kubernetes (EKS or self-managed).

Apollo Federation: multi-service.

GraphQL schema composition.

Infrastructure as Code: Pulumi or Terraform.

APM and observability: New Relic, Datadog, or Prometheus/Grafana.

Load testing tools: Autocannon, k6 or similar.

AWS Lambda and serverless patterns.

MongoDB performance profiling, query analysis, iGaming, fintech, real-time gaming domain experience, and gRPC service communication.

Tech Stack: Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, MongoDB, Redis, BullMQ, and Socket.io .
