Your Impact

As a Principal Software Developer, you will define and own the target-state architecture for decomposing a monolithic .NET application into containerized modern .NET (.NET 8+) microservices deployed on a Kubernetes (Linux) platform on Google Cloud Platform (GKE). You will set technical direction, service boundaries, and standards, and guide engineering teams through highly complex design, migration, and infrastructure decisions.

Define the microservices decomposition strategy (e.g., strangler-fig pattern) and service/domain boundaries for the monolithOwn the technical roadmap for migrating from .NET Framework to modern .NET (.NET 8+)Architect containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes deployment topology for Linux environments, including networking, scaling, and service mesh considerationsDefine API contracts, inter-service communication (REST/gRPC/messaging), and data ownership boundariesProduce high-quality architecture and design specifications; deliver POCs and estimates at short notice on technology choicesLead architecture/design reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standardsSet standards for observability, security, and GitLab CI/CD across all microservicesMentor Lead and Senior Engineers; guide them to deliver high-quality design and codeWork across teams (including the UI/Frontend team) to ensure interoperability and integration

What You Need To Succeed

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field8+ years of enterprise product development/architecture experienceExpert knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, and modern .NET (.NET 8+), with hands-on experience modernizing large enterprise applications.Strong hands-on experience designing microservices architectures and decomposing large monolithic systems using Domain-Driven Design and appropriate architectural patterns.Expert experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Helm, Ingress, ConfigMaps/Secrets) on LinuxStrong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Artifactory for build/artifact and container image management, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Strong experience with messaging and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Google Cloud Pub/Sub.Excellent understanding of API design (REST/gRPC), security, and performance at enterprise scaleExcellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Desired/Preferred Skills

Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd)Exposure to AI-assisted development tools like GitHub CopilotContent management and Capture (IDP) domain experience would be a plusExperience with OpenText products would be a plus
