Objectives of this roleProvide guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, helping them develop their technical skills, career growth, and problem-solving abilitiesIdentify skill gaps within the team and provide or recommend training resources to ensure engineers are up to date with the latest technologies and industry trendsPromote a collaborative and open team culture, ensuring smooth communication and cooperation between team members, and with other departments like product management and designWork across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growthDevelop new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirementsEnsure application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application designWork with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunitiesResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for technical discussions with senior management, other engineering teams, and business units. Translate complex technical topics into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholdersEncourage and implement process improvements to increase team productivity, code quality, and project delivery efficiency. Advocate for Agile or other development methodologies as necessaryAnticipate potential technical risks and bottlenecks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and qualityAdvocate for and implement test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and other tools to improve the speed and quality of releasesParticipate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deploymentDesign and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scaleWork primarily in technologies like .NET, Angular/REACT, Java Script, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIsEvaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and recognition to maintain high levels of motivation and productivityRequired skills and qualificationsAt least 5-7 years of Industry experience in working and building large-scale software applicationsExperience in building web applicationsExperience in designing and integrating RESTful APIsKnowledge of Angular/REACT and Java ScriptExcellent debugging and optimization skillsExperience in unit/integration testingPreferred skills and qualificationsBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineeringInterest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophiesProfessional certifications
