Description
Retail and Marcom Engineering, an IS&T team, builds and operates the systems and experiences that connect Apple's products with its customers. The team owns the technology behind both Apple's online and physical stores and drives the interactive marketing experiences and tools that keep creative operations moving. Together, those functions deliver the technology behind every product story Apple tells and every purchase a customer makes.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure.The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, Linux, automation, and observability, with a proven track record of driving infrastructure improvements, mentoring peers, and collaborating across engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications
3-8 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Engineering roles.Strong expertise in Kubernetes (scaling, performance tuning, troubleshooting at scale).Proven experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, IAM, VPC networking).Strong programming and scripting in Python (automation, tooling, infrastructure pipelines).Expertise with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of Linux systems administration including performance optimization.Solid background with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)Strong understanding of networking (DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPNs)Hands-on experience designing and implementing observability frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog)Excellent problem-solving and cross-team collaboration skills.Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud deployments.Exposure to serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).Familiarity with container security and supply chain security best practices.Experience with AI-driven automation for infrastructure (predictive scaling, anomaly detection, self-healing systems).Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
